Download management

From a link to a file: keep downloads in order.

Choose the source and files, then plan the queue. Know where to look when progress stalls.

01

Install the right version

Rill’s direct download supports Apple Silicon Macs on macOS 14.0+. Download the ZIP, unzip it and drag Rill.app into Applications. Check your chip and system version in About This Mac.

02

Add a source and choose a destination

Use New Download for HTTP / HTTPS or magnet links, or open a .torrent file. Download and share only resources you are entitled to use. Confirm the destination and select the files you need in multi-file torrents.

03

Set a manageable queue

Adjust concurrent tasks, download limits and HTTP connections in Settings → Transfers & Limits. More connections are not always faster, and segmented HTTP downloads depend on server support.

04

Check sources and connections when waiting

If progress stalls, check whether the URL and seeders are available, then expand technical details. BT automatically tries available network paths; a fixed proxy can be configured in Settings. Automatic mode may use a direct connection and does not provide anonymity.

05

Manage files and updates

BitTorrent may continue seeding after a download; control the ratio or duration in Settings. Review file deletion options before removing a task. Check for website updates from the Rill menu or Settings → About; task progress is saved before installation.
